What is a home inspection?
Understand the accessible systems of a home before buying in Puerto Vallarta, Bahía de Banderas or the Riviera Nayarit.
Schedule an InspectionA review of observed conditions
A home inspection is a visual examination of accessible areas, systems and components. It helps you understand their condition at the time of the visit, rather than judging a property only by its finishes. MEX Inspections documents observations with photographs and recommendations so you can ask informed questions before committing to a purchase.
What is reviewed?
The agreed scope can include the roof, exterior, plumbing, electrical installation, air conditioning, insulation, ventilation, appliances and interiors. Access, safety and operating conditions determine what can actually be evaluated. For a condo, clarify the difference between your unit and shared building systems.
Before, during and after the visit
Share the location, property type and any concerns with the inspector. Coordinate access with the owner or agent, including equipment and service areas. After the visit, read the report alongside its photos and ask about priorities, limitations and any further specialist evaluation recommended.
Understand the limits
A visual inspection does not uncover every concealed defect, predict all future failures or replace legal advice, an appraisal or a formal structural evaluation. An inaccessible area or a system that cannot be operated leaves questions to resolve. Ask what remains uncertain before making your decision.
